Octopus Web Sites
Octopus is one of the fastest-rising brands in Hong Kong of recent years due to its wide penetration of the electronic payment market. 95% of Hong Kong's population are Octopus card holders.
Leveraging more than 11 million cards in circulation, Octopus sought to create a loyalty program, Octopus Rewards. Card holders are rewarded for making purchases using their Octopus cards with cash-equivalents that are transferred to their cards and available for immediate spending.
Octopus asked Ion Global to help redesign its existing consumer and corporate web sites. At the same time, Ion Global architected, designed and built a launch site for the Octopus Rewards program. Working closely with Octopus, Ion Global also designed e-mail newsletters and a refer-a-friend function for the program.
Objectives of these projects were to:
- Re-architect the web sites for both consumers and business users.
- Make the sites fast, reliable and intuitive.
- Create a scalable infrastructure for the future.
- Ensure the sites are engaging, quick and easy to navigate.
- Create a strong impression of both the Octopus company and the Rewards brand.
- Attract as many online registrants as possible for the Rewards program
