Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resorts is a luxury hotel group under the Hutchison umbrella. In an era when online bookings grow every year, Harbour Plaza realized the need for a new site which would serve as a clear sales channel rather
than as a brochure.
The site in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese features a new interface for the in-house booking engine and the ability to book restaurant tables online. Conference and wedding planners can preview seating arrangements and request quotations for their events.
To enable potential guests to make easy, informed decisions, the Ion Global team produced 3D floorplans and QuickTime panoramas of every room type, as well as menu selections with real-time currency exchange rates for every restaurant. Travellers can see what's on in Hong Kong, Chongqing and Kunming, as well as local time and weather.
An intuitive content management system enables each hotel to manage its own content, while Harbour Plaza's e-commerce manager has authority to amend all content areas. The web site integrates with Ion Global's expresso e-mail marketing engine which enables Harbour Plaza to continue to provide relevant and timely information to guests, diners, planners and long-term residents.
An RSS feed is provided for partners wishing to incorporate Harbour Plaza's news into their own information systems.
